Das seit 1747 bestehende Gasthaus "Zum Neuen Krug" war ein beliebtes Ausflugsziel, welches von der Stadt Brandenburg angelegt und verpachtet wurde. Die Haupt- und Nebengebäude des Neuen Krugs sind mittig im Mittelgrund auf einem umzäunten, bewaldeten Grundstück wiedergegeben. Links und rechts verlaufen Wegen in die Tiefe. Hinter einem Beet-Rondell führt ein Knecht ein Pferd fort, nachdem die Kutsche abgespannt wurde. Das Gebäude ist von zwei Bäumen gerahmt. Das Gemälde ist nicht signiert und nicht datiert. Die Leinwand ist im Rahmen abgeklebt und auf dem Rückpapier beschriftet "Neuer Krug bei Brandenburg a/H / [später hinzugesetzt] 1810". Der Zustand ist gut.
