Die numerischen Skalen und der Schriftzug „METRE“ sind eingeprägt und mit dunkelbrauner Farbe eingefärbt. Sind alle Einzelelemente des Messgeräts ausgeklappt, kann mit Hilfe des verschiebbaren Anschlags und der Messskala die Größe des Fußes ermittelt werden.
