Vermählungsalbum für Kronprinz Friedrich Wilhelm (IV.) von Preußen und Prinzessin Elisabeth von Bayern Blatt 29 Der in Berlin geborene Maler Johannes Veit war wie sein Bruder Philipp (Blatt 7) am Vermählungsalbum beteiligt. Beide waren Schüler der Dresdener Kunstakademie und vollzogen 1810 in Wien den Übertritt zum Katholizismus. Von 1811 bis 1819 arbeitete Johannes Veit in Berlin. Ab 1822 hielt er sich bis zu seinem Tode dauerhaft in Rom auf. Vom ihm sind nur wenige Arbeiten überliefert. Mit der Darstellung „Elisabeth und der Johannesknabe vor Maria mit dem Kind“ wählte Veit ein malerisch häufig umgesetztes Sujet.
