Das Vierkantholz mit einer länglichen Vertiefung diente vermutlich wie eine Wäscherolle zum Glätten von Wäsche, wobei das leicht angefeuchtete Wäschestück fest um das Holz gewickelt und mit dem Mangelbrett von allen Seiten beschwert wurde. Die Familie Reimer übergab das Vierkantholz zusammen mit einem Mangelbrett (Inv. Nr. V 11505 H) dem Museum Brandenburg im Jahr 1988.
