Der in Werder (Havel) zu erst genutzte Spankorb löste die Tiene ab 1910 als Transportbehältnis ab. Spankörbe gab es in unterschiedlichen Größen und Formen je nach Obstsorte, um eine Quetschung der Früchte zu vermeiden.
