Julius Haevecker entwickelte um 1900 mehrere Entwürfe für ein Stadtwappen. Diese erste Gestaltungsvariante wurde durch Kaiser Wilhelm II. abgelehnt. Neben dem Wappenschild vermerkte der Verfasser handschriftlich: "Dieser Entwurf ist nicht von S. M. genehmigt worden, weil die Mauerkrone nicht der ministeriellen Vorschrift entspricht. Haevecker
