Das Ölgemälde stellt das Mühlentor, eines der 3 Stadttore der mittelalterlichen Wehranlage Templins, dar. Das Bild wurde 1962 vom Direktor des Kreisheimatmuseums Templin in Auftrag gegeben. Das Tor ist aus nord-westlicher Richtung mit Blick auf die Mühlenstraße stadteinwärts dargestellt. Das Bild ist von Wilhelm Wilcke signiert.
