Description

The commemorative sheet with the dedication: "To our compatriots in East Asia we, the former occupiers of Qingdao, dedicate this commemorative sheet as an expression of our deep gratitude for the devoted help in 1914, Japan 1919". Below the dedication, six large Japanese POW camps for German soldiers are mentioned in capital letters: Nagoya, Aonogahara, Bando, Narashino, Kurume, Ninoshima. The signatures of German officers deployed there as "camp elders" are underneath. The sheet was sent to Anna Berger, the wife of Paul Richard Berger.
