Christian Schilbach (1668-1741)

Der in Plauen geborene Maler ist noch 1688 als »Kunstmaler in Plauen« und 1696 in Dresden als Hofmaler erwähnt. Um 1700 muss er längere Zeit in Wien tätig gewesen sein. Spätestens seit 1709 gehörte er zum Hofstaat Herzog Friedrichs II. von Sachsen-Gotha.
